Myerson’s adds to property team

Altrincham-based law firm, Myerson, has recruited Mark Gillies as a partner in its commercial property department.

Gillies joined Myerson from Laytons, where he was head of property in the Manchester office for eight years. He specialises in property finance and secured lending and has expertise in advising on commercial property acquisitions and disposals.

In the past 12 months, Myerson’s property team has advised Mosley Street Ventures on No 2 St Peter’s Square and Fortis Developments on the purchase and subsequent sale of a substantial residential development scheme in the Green Quarter, both in Manchester.

In total, Myerson’s property department now consists of five partners, three senior solicitors, three solicitors, a trainee solicitor and two property assistants.

Richard Lloyd, partner and head of commercial property at Myerson, said: “Mark is a very well-known and respected figure in the North West property sector and adds further strength to our existing commercial property offering. More and more mid-sized and large businesses who have traditionally used more expensive city centre lawyers are now instructing us as a credible alternative.”
