Muse visits school to give advice

Commercial and urban regeneration developer Muse Developments is helping students at Kingsway School in Cheadle to develop their employability and enterprise skills.

The company, which owns Cheadle Royal Business Park, is working alongside Year 10 students at the school, located near to the park.

The school has partnered with local charity, Education Business Solutions, to create a comprehensive programme of work-related and work-based learning activities for the students.

Education Business Solutions organises events for and with schools to help students, teachers and representatives from the business world develop and enhance their professional skills.

As part of the programme of events, Muse will help to carry out practice interviews, provide application form support and advice, as well as take part in an activity known as Enterprise Challenge. The one day activity, delivered by Education Business Solutions, allows students to run their own enterprise, if they had £20,000 of investment to spend and sell products to a panel of industry experts.

Jill O'Grady, human resources manager at Muse Developments, said: "This is an excellent initiative that brings together professional expertise from the local business community to provide students with a taste of the commercial world. It's hugely satisfying to work with pupils at Kingsway School in vital areas, such as team work, communication and creative-thinking in a business environment."

Cheadle Royal is built over 70 acres and offers over 650,000 sq ft of office space.

The park is close to Manchester Airport and the M60 and M56 motorways, with tenants including Umbro, Jacobs Engineering, Agilent and DeVere.

Muse Developments will take part in further Enterprise Business Solutions events later in the year.
