Mulbury Homes starts work on £4m scheme

Mulbury Homes has started on site with the development of 46 affordable homes in Barnoldswick, Lancashire.

The two and three-bedroom terraced homes will be located on a 2.3-acre area of vacant scrubland off Valley Road in Pendle.

Mulbury Homes is developing the properties on behalf of Housing Pendle, a member of the Together Housing Group. The homes are to be made available for affordable rent to local families.

The homes, being built by Manchester-based Harbur Construction, are scheduled to be completed at the end of March 2015.

Greg Mulligan, director of Mulbury Homes, said: "This is the latest in a number of schemes we have developed on behalf of Housing Pendle, helping to increase the supply of affordable housing and regenerating communities across the region."

Legal and planning officers agree that the council would be acting contrary to the local plan – and thus making itself vulnerable to legal challenge – should it persist in refusing the applications from Seddon Homes and Applethwaite.
