Muir names new chief executive

Catherine Dixson, executive director of GreenSquare Group in the South West, will join Chester-based Muir Group Housing Association in September as chief executive when outgoing boss John Bellis retires.

Dixson is responsible for corporate services including organisational development with Swindon-based GreenSquare and previously worked for Synergy Housing Group in Poole in a number of senior executive roles.

David Booth, chairman of Muir Group Housing Association, said: "It was never going to be easy to find someone to replace John Bellis who has headed up Muir Group Housing for 22 years having worked for the organisation for 34 years.

"Catherine will be leading a strong, financially stable organisation with a committed and loyal workforce but like others in the housing industry we face some tough challenges ahead which will require sensitive and skilful handling."

John Bellis, chief executive, Muir Group Housing Association, said: "I have greatly enjoyed my time with Muir Group and I shall be sad to leave but I am delighted that Catherine has accepted the role and I believe the organisation will be in safe hands."

Dixson said: "This is a great opportunity for me and I am delighted to have been offered the role. I am really looking forward to working with the board, staff and residents. I am totally committed to helping the group achieve its service goals and I am passionate about delivering excellent customer service and continuously improving the business."
