Muir Group adds to board

Clare Babbs, a consultant in the voluntary sector, has joined the board of Muir Group Housing Association.

Babbs, who lives in Hoole, is already a board member of the Chester-based association's charity arm Friends Of Muir Group.

She said: "I have already seen the fantastic work Muir Group are doing in the community through FOMG and wanted to get even more involved. I am really looking forward to helping to make decisions that have a real impact on improving residents' lives."

Prior to setting up her own consultancy, Babbs' career included spells at Chester City Council, the North West Development Agency and Government Office for the North West. She is also a trustee of Chester Voluntary Action and is chairman of Blacon Community Trust.

Muir Group manages more than 4,700 properties and is a key provider of supported housing schemes for vulnerable people across the country.

John Bellis, chief executive, of Muir Group, said: "Clare has a huge range of skills and experience that will be a real benefit to our board and association and we are delighted to welcome her."
