MSP buys final piece of city campus
Manchester Science Partnerships has completed the acquisition of the 35,000 sq ft Synergy House from London-based Minton Group to complete the jigsaw of ownership at its central Manchester campus near Oxford Road.
The three-storey property is fully occupied by technology companies Equinix, formerly known as Telecity, ANS Group and CACI.
Manchester Science Partnerships, which is majority owned by property company Bruntwood, has five sites across the North West.
MSP’s plans for the future redevelopment of the Central Campus include a purpose-built innovation centre, the 70,000 sq ft No1 MSP Central, due to open early 2017.
Thomas Renn, associate commercial director of Manchester Science Partnerships, said: “With a huge surge in demand from innovation-led businesses looking to be located in Manchester, the acquisition of Synergy House gives us the much-needed space required for our future growth and development.
“The property provides us with 35,000 sq ft of accommodation and critically provides us with full control of all the commercial land on our campus. This is integral to the delivery of our masterplan, which will see the Central Campus grow to 1m sq ft of space by 2018.”
Brian Ghatan led the deal at law firm Addleshaw Goddard. He said: “This purchase is great news for MSP and is an important step forward in the plans for the central Manchester site. We very much look forward to working with MSP in the future and helping it achieve its ambitions.”
