M&S extends lease at Lowry Outlet Mall

Marks & Spencer has renewed its lease at the mall in Salford Quays, owned by Emerson Group.

The high street retailer has signed another 10-year deal for its Marks & Spencer Outlet store for an undisclosed rent.

Robert Hallworth, centre manager, said: "It shows overwhelming confidence in the centre's performance over the last few years. With Media City UK, one of the UK's largest developments, being next door to the centre, this will also give the mall a boost in sales and footfall for years to come and M&S are very keen to capitalize on this market.

"As the Lowry Outlet Mall has the biggest retail offering on the Quays, we are in a prime position to take advantage of the growing opportunities in this area and look to develop our offering further in the coming months."

Hallworth added that for the year to date total sales had increased by 8.4% at the Lowry Outlet Mall and footfall was up 6.8% from January to 10 July 2011.
