M&S Ashton opens this month

Marks & Spencer's relocated Ashton-under-Lyne store will open its doors to customers on Wednesday 23 January.

The 45,000 sq ft store at Ashton Moss retail park, Lord Sheldon Way, created 53 new jobs when relocating from Warrington Street. The new, larger store includes an expanded fashion department.

New features for Marks & Spencer in Ashton include a 98-seat café located on the first floor mezzanine, a home department and an in-store bakery located in the food hall.

Rob Pickford, store manager, said: "The new store will allow us to bring our customers a wider selection of fashion, including the popular per una range in womenswear and tailoring in menswear.

"We hope that customers will join us on the 23 January to see all of the new features that we will be bringing to the area."

Opening day entertainment has been organised including an in-store DJ and the chance for customers to win a share of £1,000 in gift cards with 96.2 The Revolution.

Personal shoppers will also be on hand to help customers choose from the collections and a chef will give demonstrations in the food hall.

The main contractor on the project is Wates Group. The architect was Taggart Architects.

Save petrol and don’t bother going, I visited recently whilst I can’t fault the store it took an hour to get out of the car park and from speaking with other people who’ve visited this is not unusual.
