Mosaic secures permission for Your Housing development

Mosaic Town Planning represented Your Housing Group in obtaining permission for an extra care scheme including 82 apartments on land off Kingsway, Chester.

The development includes communal facilities, a wellbeing suite and hair and beauty salon.

Architect Pozzoni LLP produced design proposals for the development on the site of the former Woodfield Primary School.

Despite the designation of the site as open space dating back to its educational use, Cheshire West & Chester Council agreed that the provision of housing for the elderly outweighed the loss.

Leon Armstrong, associate at Mosaic Town Planning, said: "The delivery of this scheme is part of an ongoing requirement to meet identified housing needs, including those of the elderly.

"This is one of a number of permissions we have obtained on behalf of Your Housing Group for extra care schemes, following the grant of a similar development for 77 apartments in Helsby during the Summer."

Your Housing Group aims to start on site soon with completion forecast before the end of March 2015.
