Morgan Ashurst wins Wirral school work

Salford-based contractor Morgan Ashurst has been awarded a £4.4m contract to build a new primary school for Wirral Council in Wallasey.

The council said Morgan Ashurst will be expected to contribute to the social and environmental regeneration of the area around the school and payments will be linked to his area of performance.

The contract is the latest example of the big builders bidding for and winning relatively small jobs with which they would not typically be linked during a stronger market.

Morgan Ashurst is also building two secondary schools in Liverpool, under contracts worth £55m, through the Building Schools for the Future programme.
