Mills & Reeve boosts team with eight hires

Law firm Mills & Reeve has added eight new hires to its Manchester-based real estate team, headed up by Mike Edge and Rachel Pitman, who joined the company from Pinsent Masons in January this year.

Senior associate Alexandra Murphy, who previously worked with Edge and Pitman at Pinsent Masons, has joined the team, alongside associates Holly Fallon, Helen Brierley, and Kelly Harrison.

Development and investment lawyer Kate Barber has joined as a consultant, while Umara Naseer and Noshin Iqbal have both joined the team as paralegals, and Holly Hill has joined as a property litigation specialist.

The hires follow Edge and Pitman’s move from Pinsent Masons, which was first confirmed in October last year. Both partners took up their roles at Mills & Reeve in January this year.

“We now have real strength in depth and everyone will play a pivotal role in servicing our growing client base in the North West. The team has brought in new work to the firm and we have completed several high-profile deals in recent months with more in the pipeline,” said Edge.

National head of real estate at Mills & Reeve, Beverley Firth, added: The arrival of Rachel and Mike has been the catalyst for further expansion and we are pleased at the successes we have had in attracting new talent and winning new work, including being appointed to the legal framework of Homes England.

“We have seen an increase in fee income of 20% in Manchester and we continue to look for exceptional people to help us build on this strong financial performance.”
