Miller Homes relocates to Birchwood Park

The housebuilder is moving its regional head office from Newton-Le-Willows to 4,000 sq ft at the Warrington business park, as it adopts flexible working practices trialled during the pandemic.

The new office is smaller than the current base as many staff members will continue to work from home this year, and it will also be entirely paperless in a bid to cut waste, the company said.

Miller Homes’ Birchwood Park home will house up to 100 staff across 4,154 sq ft of space at 103 Dalton Avenue. The housebuilder has a portfolio of developments ongoing in the region, in Blackburn, Congleton, Warton, Stretford, Clitheroe and Warrington, which it will oversee from the new regional base.

The relocation will take place over the coming weeks.

Ian Smith, regional managing director of Miller Homes North West, said: “We have learned a lot during the pandemic lockdown period about how we want to function as a business in the future and are excited about the change in our regional office location.

“We found Birchwood Park to be in the ideal location with its proximity to major transport routes including the M6 and M62, as well as providing ready access to Birchwood train station. We have planned for the office to capture a more modern and flexible way of working, with no designated desks and being paperless to support our sustainability objectives.”

Smith added: “We aim to foster a more collaborative culture with the various functional disciplines within the business, giving us the opportunity to work more easily together to bring projects through the pipeline and support our site activities once developments are underway.”

The 120-acre Birchwood Park is in the Cheshire Science Corridor Enterprise Zone and is home to around 165 companies across a range of industry sectors.
