Middlewood Locks proposals up for discussion

Pre-planning public consultation events will take place during June to gather ideas for the future of the 21-acre site in Salford now owned by Scarborough Development Group.

Scarborough acquired the site near Manchester city centre from Grant Thornton, administrators to Valley & Vale Properties.

Local people will have the chance to share their views at the following sessions:

  • 14 June: Angel Centre, the Community Café 11:30am to 2:30pm
  • 15 June: St Philips Church of England Primary School 9am to 10am, and 2:30pm to 3:30pm
  • 17 June: St Philips Church 10:45am to 11.45am

Lee Savage, development director of Scarborough, said: "This site has had lots of plans over the years for a variety of uses. We want to bring something to fruition which will not only meet the appetite in the market but also benefit the people and communities of Salford.

"Initial meetings with the local council and key stakeholders has started the process and we're looking forward to the next stage of the consultation with the local community to understand how any potential development could benefit the area."
