Midas plots overhaul of its Preston HQ

Plans to demolish the majority of the 32,500 sq ft site and build 38 units for start-ups have been lodged with the city council.

Midas Land’s 3.7-acre Barton Hall headquarters is located off Garstang Road. The company relocated there from Preston city centre in 2020, according to Companies House.

Barton Hall has previously been occupied by the Royal Air Force and as an animal health centre operated by DEFRA.

Under plans drawn up by Cassidy + Ashton and Barclay + Phillips Architects, 28,500 sq ft of modern employment space would be created following the demolition of existing buildings.

The plans for the site feature the retention of one of the existing office buildings. This would be converted into a 7,500 sq ft communal space for Barton Hall occupiers.

Midas is also working up separate plans for a new head 6,700 sq ft office on the site.

In total, the redeveloped Barton Hall would deliver 35,300 sq ft of workspace.
