Mid-Cheshire College facility completed

Pochin Construction has reached practical completion on a new £7m Winsford campus facility for Mid-Cheshire College.

Located on Weaver Street in Winsford, the 37,135 sq ft building is set over three levels. Pochin has completed the construction of the main building in addition to ancillary facilities, landscaping and car parking.

Pochin, which gained the construction contract in September 2008, has also completed part of the fit-out for the college.

Antony Pochin, business strategy director of Pochin Construction, said: "As a Cheshire-based company, we are proud to have had the opportunity to play such an integral part in developing what is clearly going to be a landmark educational institution for the area."

The completed facility is capable of accommodating a student population of 300 and 73 full and part time staff. The Winsford campus will officially open for its first term of courses in September this year.

The project has been led by Mid-Cheshire College and supported by a number of agencies including the North West Development Agency and Vale Royal Council, which is now part of Cheshire West & Chester Council.
