The new owners of the Metquarter fashion arcade in Liverpool city centre have completed their first lettings since acquiring the centre.
Anglo Irish Bank Private Banking and Alanis Capital have attracted DKNY Jeans on a 10-year lease to a 4,908 sq ft double unit. Jeweller Azendi agreed a 10-year lease on a 990 sq ft unit, previously occupied by Tony & Guy Opticians on the ground floor, at £70,000 a year plus percentage of turnover.
Both stores are currently fitting out. Coffee shop Hamiltons, owned by ex Atomic Kitten band member Natasha Hamilton, opened recently in a 1,700 sq ft store on a rent of £83,000 a year plus a share of turnover.
Mark Garmon Jones of letting agent Savills said the two remaining units would be let after Christmas and were the subject of advanced negotiations.
The previous owner, Milligan, who developed the 135,000 sq ft centre before selling to Anglo/Alanis for around £90m in August, had originally promised the Metquarter would be fully let in Easter of this year.
Garmon Jones added that the ongoing asset review could include installing kiosks in the ground floor public areas if there was sufficient interest from the right occupiers.
