Metis on the move to Albert Square

Agency Metis Real Estate Advisors has become the first office occupier in the recently refurbished Northern Assurance Buildings on Albert Square, Manchester, taking 2,139 sq ft on the fifth floor.

Metis is moving its 11-strong team from 53 King Street’s The Offices serviced space into the building, which forms part of the Albert Estate owned by the LJ Partnership.

The estate also includes Victoria Buildings, 2 Mount Street and 1 Central Street and has undergone a £3m overhaul across the various buildings.

OBI Property, which along with JLL is retained agent on the building, designed and project managed its refurbishment, which included the enhancement of the listed features coupled with the modernisation of the internal workspace.

Richard Lace of OBI’s transactions and asset management team said: “Northern Assurance Buildings and the wider Albert Estate provide the perfect blend of character listed building features with modern super-connected workspace in a desirable central Manchester location.

“The space is appealing to occupiers from a wide and diverse range of sectors and with other space under offer we look forward to announcing further transactions in the near future.”
