Metier secures tenant at Skelmersdale offices

Insurance and investment firm NFU Mutual has taken 3,000 sq ft at Metier's Maple Court at Whitemoss Business Park in Skelmersdale, Lancashire.

NFU Mutual has signed a ten year lease with the Alderley Edge-based developer and join occupiers including Loaf Creative, Federal Management and Greenhalgh Solicitors. The firm was previously based in the business park.

Andrew Hine, of Metier, said: "We are pleased that we were able to provide an office product which meant they didn't have to relocate far from their existing location."

The first phase of Maple Court was completed last year and provides self contained buildings ranging from 2,000 to 4,000 sq ft. The scheme was designed by architects Leach Rhodes Walker and constructed by Skelmersdale-based CPUK.

Chris Cheap, director in the offices team at GVA Grimley, said: "Following on from the NFU Mutual transaction we are continuing to receive a significant level of interest in the remaining buildings and we anticipate full occupancy within the near future."

The second phase of Maple Court has planning consent for 25,000 sq ft of office development.

WHR Property Consultants are joint agents on Maple Court and the quoting rents are £14.50/sq ft a year.
