Merepark signs Nando’s for Central Village

Nando's will occupy 3,315 sq ft on the Plaza level of the Boardwalk building at the back of the former Lewis's department store in the £160m Liverpool development.

The chain joins prelets including the Restaurant Group's Chiquito, Coast to Coast, Indian restaurant chain Zouk Tea Bar & Grill, and anchor tenant Odeon.

The latest letting comes as Adagio City Aparthotel prepares to open its 126 apartment to customers in the spring. The new aparthotel will take up one half of the restored Lewis's building, a redevelopment partly financed by the European Regional Development Fund. The other half of the building will provide 75,000 sq ft of Grade A office space, as well as leisure and retail space at the lower levels all focusing around new public realm.

The entire six-acre development is expected to be completed in 2014.

Another letting is always welcome and, for some reason, teenagers flock to Nandos like nobody’s business. No way they will finish the project by 2014 though, unless the twin towers have been dropped.
