Mercedes-Benz moves in Stockport

WHR Property Consultants said it secured the largest office letting in Stockport of the year so far: 12,300 sq ft at Artemis House in Greek Street to Mercedes-Benz.

Mercedes-Benz will relocate from Crossley Park having agreed a five-year lease on Artemis House.

The building was occupied by the Department of Work & Pensions but WHR negotiated an early surrender of its lease to facilitate the letting to Mercedes-Benz.

The landlord is Pentith. Tony Howcroft, associate partner of letting agent WHR Property Consultants, said: "This is a hugely significant deal for both our client and for the Stockport area. By negotiating a simultaneous deal for an early surrender of the lease of existing tenant and a new lease to Mercedes-Benz, we have managed to ensure that the building will continue to be fully let. To have a zero void, particularly in this market, is a real achievement and indicative of the growing confidence in the occupier market."

Matt Wrigley, group marketing director of Mercedes-Benz Retail Group UK, said: "The customer support unit at Stockport is integral to our overall Mercedes-Benz Retail operation and the smooth transition has ensured that it continues to provide operational support whilst relocating to the new premises. The new premises are on a completely different level from the existing location and the feedback from all the staff has been very positive."

Impey & Co was the joint letting agent. Robert Stephens & Co acted on behalf of Mercedes-Benz.
