MEPC to spend £4.7m on Thomson House

MEPC Birchwood Park has unveiled plans designed by BDP and Fuse for the complete refurbishment of the 105,000 sq ft office building.

The refurbishment includes the complete recladding of the building and modernised interior spaces. There will be new landscaping, a dedicated business hub, new reception and an outdoor all-weather patio area.

The new reception, business hub and first floor office space are due to be completed by spring 2014. Full completion is expected by June 2014.

Andrew Cowell, commercial director of Birchwood Park, said one occupier was in talks about taking the top floor. He added: "Exciting things are happening at Birchwood Park. MEPC's commitment to the Birchwood area has been demonstrated time and again since arriving 15 years ago, and this particular investment shows that there's no sign of slowing down.

"We remain committed to continuing to exceed our levels of service, both through the activities and benefits available to all occupiers and through the buildings themselves. We pride ourselves on offering spaces which impress customers and clients, and on being a landlord that goes the extra mile in helping businesses to provide their staff with an inspiration and vibrant atmosphere and a productive working environment."

OBI Property is managing the project.

BE Group and Jones Lang LaSalle are the letting agents.
