Media firm buys Ask HQ in Deansgate Quays

Ask Developments has sold its headquarters at Deansgate Quay in Manchester city centre to television production company Paul Doherty International for £1.36m.

Ask has relocated to another building it owns in the north of the city, Old School House, George Leigh Street, Ancoats.

Paul Doherty is currently fitting out the premises ahead of occupation. Drivers Jonas' Scott Griffiths, who handled the acquisition for Paul Doherty, said the company had out-grown its existing premises in Hulme. Around 2,600 sq ft of the 4,939 sq ft bought will be sub-let and Drivers Jonas has been retained to handle the letting.

The premises overlook the canal at Deansgate Quay and include a boardroom, smaller meeting rooms and on-site parking. There are several floors of residential above the ground and lower ground offices.

Lambert Smith Hampton advised Ask Developments. LSH agent Mark Bamber said: "Deansgate Quay provides a rare opportunity to acquire unique accommodation in a waterside setting in close proximity to Manchester's amenities. As a result we received a high level of interest in the property from a number of owner occupiers."
