Media college opens in Federation House

Property group Downing has secured a 17, 500 sq ft letting in Hope Street to Liverpool Media Academy, which will occupy all five upper floors.

The media, music and performing arts college offers BTEC and HND qualifications, and opened its doors to students in September.

The first floor of Federation House was formerly the base for Liverpool Design Centre and the building's distinctive faux-Aztec cladding was designed by William Mitchell, who also designed the Catholic cathedral's sculpted bell-tower and intricate main doors.

No agents were involved in the deal.
