MCR finishes Portland Street offices

MCR Property Group has completed the refurbishment of 55,000 sq ft at 9 Portland Street in central Manchester.

Formerly known as Magnum House, the building was previously occupied by GMPTE before its relocation to Argent's Piccadilly Place. Floor plates at 9 Portland Street range from 4,500 sq ft to 12,000 sq ft. Volker Rail took 3,000 sq ft at the building prior to completion.

Will Kennon, senior surveyor at CBRE, advising MCR, said: "The quoting rent of £18 per sq ft is extremely competitive and we anticipate the whole package will appeal to a wide range of occupiers seeking Grade A accommodation in the city centre at an affordable price."

The headline rent in the city centre is around £28/sq ft. WHR Property is joint agent with CBRE. The scheme will be formally launched on 3 April.
