The Keepmoat Homes-owned company has purchased a derelict 10-acre plot from Promenade Estates for an undisclosed sum.
MCI Developments, working with Promenade Estates, had secured planning permission from Cheshire West and Chester Council on 28 June to build 170 houses on the site, which is located off Meadow Lane. The site had once been a Van Leer Factory. That factory closed in 2009.
MCI will deliver the scheme alongside Riverside Group.

Also, we very much thank Promenade Estates for dealing with us whilst planning permission was being approved.
“This site had an old factory on it which was demolished over a decade ago, so we are delighted to be bringing it back in to active use once again.”
MCI is already at work getting the site ready for construction.
The company plans to complete the project within four years. When finished, it will have houses that have between one and four bedrooms and come in a variety of tenures, including shared ownership, affordable rent and rent-to-buy.
The deal is the sixth land acquisition, and largest, for MCI this year, according to Wood.
“With more than two months of the year still to go, we are experiencing a good year in terms of bringing forward new development schemes with RP partners,” Wood said. “This latest deal, which is our biggest of 2021, takes the number of plots on the six new schemes purchased during the year to 565 new homes.”
