MCI begins social housing job

Speke-based MCI Developments has won two new contracts in Liverpool.

It has started work on 11 homes at land off Broad Green Road, Old Swan for the Liverpool Housing Trust, and is building a new vicarage for the Diocese of Liverpool in Stoneycroft.

The LHT job will provide the trust with nine two-bed houses, one three-bed house and a three-bed bungalow. Demolition work on the brownfield site will start in January.

For the church, MCI is clearing derelict outbuildings to make room for a four-bed vicarage and a parish hall. The £300,000 scheme should be finished by the end of 2012.

MCI land director Andrew Garnett said: "It is apparent that the existing facilities at the church are in need of replacement. The new buildings will be a real asset to the parish."
