McGoff goes hands-on at Downtown

The McGoff Group has set up Downtown Asset Management, a service that will provide building management and lettings services at Downtown, its flagship 374-apartment development off Ordsall Lane, Salford.

The four-strong team is headed by Paul Danks, who said the ability to provide hands-on management for overseas investors had partly driven the move.

Danks, who has been group sales director at McGoff since 2017, is joined by Rick Medcraft, who joined in March following a spell working in lettings with Jordan Fishwick; group project manager Kay Johnson, who takes the role of on-site client liaison; and Rebecca Chow who with experience in Hong Kong real estate will liaise with the development’s Chinese-speaking investors. Chow joined in June.

Danks said: “Downtown combines high quality build with hotel-style accommodation and communal services to offer a premium product that is ideal for rental and has been exceptionally well received by investors, both locally and around the world.

“With many international investors based overseas and opting to take a more hands-off approach, we felt it necessary to launch a specialist service dedicated to taking care of their needs locally and I’m delighted to say that we’ve had a superb response.”

The 164-apartment first phase of Downtown is now complete, with the 210-unit phase two due for completion by March 2020 – this is 18 months earlier than originally planned, construction being brought forward following the success of ff-plan sales.

As well as construction, the McGoff group includes Villafont Homes, a facilities management division, care home business New Care and childcare business Back to the Garden.
