Maybern eyes further expansion after senior hire

Ancoats-based Maybern Planning and Development has appointed Sarah Jones as senior planning consultant, taking its headcount up to three.

Her appointment comes after the company secured several recent instructions, affording  “scope for further hires in the near future”, Maybern said.

Jones has joined from Altrincham-based consultancy Eden Planning & Development, where she spent two years as associate director.

Prior to joining Eden, Jones spent 23 years at consultancy Turley, between 1995 and 2018, where she worked on commercial, residential and retail schemes.

Maybern, founded in 2017, is made up of director Katie Delaney and the firm’s other senior planning consultant, Hollie Barton, formerly of NJL Consulting.

Delaney said: “Sarah brings with her a wealth of experience in private consultancy and a track record of delivering schemes quickly and efficiently on behalf of clients.”

The consultancy is providing planning advice on several projects in Lancashire, including Westchurch Homes’ 89-home scheme in Fulwood, and MCI Developments’ 39-home project in Barton.

Maybern’s clients include landowners, national and regional housebuilders, land promoters, commercial operators, schools and education trusts.
