Marshall outlines Heaton Mersey industrial plans

Marshall CDP has submitted a planning application for a 33,000 sq ft industrial unit on the former Wilton Works site off Battersea Road in Heaton Mersey, Stockport.

An office project on the undeveloped plot off Battersea Road was previously brought forward in 2007, but this was never progressed, and Marshall CDP is now looking to deliver an industrial or warehousing unit on the site, which neighbours other industrial units occupied by Direct Packing Solutions.

Other neighbouring plots also house industrial units with occupiers including Heaton Press, Movers Transport, and Timbermat. The site is close to Heaton Mersey, the A34, and Junction 1 of the M60, and is currently used as a car park.

Marshall’s proposals feature a 33,000 sq ft warehouse along with car parking for a total of 28 vehicles to the front and rear, as well as a service yard. An overspill car park opposite also has capacity for 72 vehicles.

Davies Harrison is the agent for the scheme which is understood to be under offer from a potential occupier. The professional team includes Cora IHT as transport planner.
