Dentsu Aegis, a marketing services group already resident in Bruntwood’s Manchester portfolio, is understood to be closing in on a deal for around 100,000 sq ft at the £750m development.
Contractor Sisk is currently on site with 400,000 sq ft of offices across two buildings at Circle Square, where the commercial space is being developed by Bruntwood SciTech, a £360m vehicle set up between the developer and Legal & General.
Dentsu Aegis functions as a network of media, digital and communications agencies, billing itself as “collectively the largest media agency outside London”. The group employs 400 people in Manchester, working across brands including Carat, iProspect, Vizeum, Fetch, Amplifi and Amnet. The company occupies space in Portland Street, and its other locations in the North are in Newcastle, Leeds and Edinburgh.
Last month, Bruntwood announced it would be accelerating the delivery of a third, 220,000 sq ft office, due to “exceptional levels of interest”. This would mean a total of 580,000 sq ft coming forward at the site in one go.
So far, the only letting announced by Bruntwood has been to tech giant HP, taking 20,000 sq ft on the seventh floor of No1 Circle Square. However various other names have been linked with the Oxford Road development, including law firm Mills & Reeve for around 12,000 sq ft; and Jaguar Land Rover. Circle Square is also understood to be one of the sites under consideration by telecoms giant BT for its 200,000 sq ft requirement.
