Manufacturer to build new offices

Barnfield Construction, advised by Indigo Planning, has been granted planning permission by Pendle Council to build new offices for plastics maker Wardle Storeys at its site in Earby, north of Burnley.

Barnfield bought the complex from Wardle Storeys in 2010 to enable a capital injection into the new facilities and machinery. Wardle Storeys employs 250 people manufacturing polymer films and coated fabrics for industry.

The 5,651 sq ft office building will replace older facilities in the village and act as a focal point for the site entrance next to the factory. The architect for the scheme is Craven Design Partnership.

Daniel Jackson, associate at Indigo Planning, said: "This decision means that Wardle Storeys can continue to operate at the forefront of this specialist area, remain competitive and secure important local jobs."

Tim Webber, managing director of Barnfield Group, said: "These are exciting times for Wardle Storeys and we look forward to working in partnership with them in order to achieve these plans and deliver the long term vision."

The new facility is expected to be completed in 2013.
