Manchester University to preserve historic buildings

The university is looking to appoint a contractor to undertake conservation works on various listed buildings around its main quadrangle off Oxford Road.

The work includes scaffolding and protection, stone-work repairs, stained glass and timber window repairs, rain water goods, mechanical and electrical services, roofing, and external works.

The contract value of the works is expected to be around £5m.

The work is programmed to commence in August 2013 with a completion date in March 2016.

Contractors will be required to register with the university's In-tend system to take part in the tender process.
