Manchester Uni to draw up consultancy framework

Manchester University is setting up a panel of consultants to handle £22m a year of building work on the institution's large estate.

The university owns 200 buildings in and around the Oxford Road corridor, many of which it says are old and in need of work.

The panel will run for two years with extensions possible and cover architectural, cost consultancy, building surveying, CDM coordination, mechanical & electrical, project management, building control and lift consultancy services.

A maximum of eight firms will be appointed to each discipline by the end of the year.
