The Manchester at MIPIM Partnership has announced that more than 100 organisations will be representing the city in Cannes this March, the largest backing in the partnership’s 18-year history.
New members of the delegation include Far East Consortium, Property Alliance Group, Select Property Group, St Michael’s and U+I.
Applications to join are still being accepted. Three packages are available, with sponsors paying £18,000, partners £12,000 and associates £6,500. The partnership is coordinated by Marketing Manchester, which is inviting members to submit ideas for six of the sessions held during the week.
The city’s 2016 delegation of 99 organisations and more than 200 delegates was the second largest out of 550 cities in attendance, leading the city to conclude it need to expands its footprint at the event. Manchester will now occupy a pavilion alongside the Palais des Festivals, along with the likes of London, Paris, Istanbul and Dubai. The new facility will include event space, exhibition space and the Manchester Café. The popular nearby Manchester bar will remain in operation.
Sir Howard Bernstein, chief executive of Manchester City Council said: “Manchester has a long and proud history at MIPIM, much of the success of which is due to its strong public-private approach.
“Following an uncertain political year, it’s now more important than ever that we strengthen our commitment to the event. It’s imperative that the Manchester at MIPIM Partnership takes this opportunity to prove that Manchester is an outward-thinking region that will to continue to work proactively with Europe and the rest of the world.”
Confirmed speakers for Manchester’s programme include senior leaders from Amsterdam, Barcelona, Berlin and Stockholm. The full programme of events will be announced next month.
