A new service has been launched at Manchester Airport aimed at those travelling to this year's MIPIM international property trade show in Cannes, southern France.
MAG Developments, the property and development arm of the Manchester Airports Group, and airline Jet2 announced that a flight will be available from Terminal 1 at Manchester Airport on Monday 7 March 2011 at 11:30am, arriving at Nice International Airport, the nearest airport to the location of the event, at 2:40pm.
A return flight departs Nice on Friday 11 March at 12pm, arriving back in Manchester at 1:20pm.
John Atkins, managing director of MAG Developments, said: "We know from previous years that significant demand exists for this service, as MIPIM is a vital opportunity for securing future investment in the property sector for Greater Manchester."
The flight, which will be operated by Jet2, is part of a travel package that includes free airport car parking, private check-in with a 23kg baggage allowance, fast-track security clearance, and entry into the Escape Lounge in Terminal 1 for complimentary food and drinks. Luxury coach transfers between Nice and nearby Cannes for MIPIM are also included in the price of £400 a person, including taxes.
Airlines British Airways and Jet2 both used to operate scheduled services between Manchester and Nice, while Swiss International Air Lines still has a service to Nice via Zurich out of the summer schedule.
Jet2 moved its Manchester-Nice service to the summer season in recent years, while BA stopped its service a while back.
Forty five companies have signed up to represent Manchester next year at MIPIM 2011.
The lead sponsors, paying £20,000 each, up from £15,000 in 2010, are Argent, the Co-operative Estates, Manchester Airport Developments, MediaCo and MIDAS.
MIPIM takes place from 8 to 11 March 2011.
