Macbryde completes in Ellesmere Port

Working with housing association Plus Dane, Macbryde has completed 67 homes in an £8m development at Oakley Park on the outskirts of Ellesmere Port.

The 12-acre site includes a mix of affordable tenures, with the two and three-bed homes delivered for affordable rent, rent-to-buy, and shared ownership. These affordable homes were due to complete in March but were finished ahead of schedule after being handed over in December last year.

Delivery of the homes has been supported by a £1.6m grant from Homes England. Plus Dane’s development is part of the wider Oakley Park site, where 171 homes will be delivered by Macbryde.

Madeleine Nelson, Plus Dane’s executive director for growth, said: “Oakley Park is the result of nearly ten years of collaboration between Plus Dane and Macbryde. Originally intended as a much smaller scheme, it became part of a longer-term strategy to bring much needed homes and investment to the Ellesmere Port area.”

Gwyn Jones, managing director of Macbryde Homes, added: “The scheme has blended seamlessly with our open market sale homes and creates a true mixed-tenure community which has had a transformational impact on this area of Ellesmere Port.

“The country urgently needs more quality new housing delivered through a blend of tenures and we are keen to partner with Plus Dane and others to repeat this model many times over.”
