Macbryde breaks ground on Conwy homes

Macbryde Homes is starting on site with a development of 156 homes on the edge of Abergele, on land previously earmarked for the North Wales Business Park.

The houses ranging from two-bedroom mews to three- and four-bedroom detached family homes are planned for a 14.8-acre site, between the A547 and A55 North Wales Expressway.

Planning permission was secured in July 2017. Sales at Abergele will launch in April.

Macbryde said that the homes, being marketed under the name Bron Y Castell, will be constructed to take account of the existing character of the local landscape and built environment. Materials will be a combination of cast limestone walling and render, and buff brick and render, both with grey roof tiles.

Stuart Andrew, design manager at Macbryde Homes, said: “Significant time and consideration went in to preparing our proposals to ensure that this development is complimentary to its locale and to ensure that it doesn’t impact negatively on either existing or future traffic flows in the town. We are, therefore, very much looking forward to seeing how it is received by the local population.”
