LSH seeks sites for gelato chain

Lambert Smith Hampton has been instructed by Creams Café, the US-style dessert parlour chain, to secure 50 UK sites to support its growth plans.

The business, which specialises in Italian gelato and continental desserts, is currently trading from more than 60 outlets and has secured a further 51. By the end of 2017, Creams Café wants to have another 50 prime retail sites of 1,800 sq ft each.

Creams’ current roster of locations is dominated by London and the South East, with just one operational site in the North West, at Manchester’s Portland Street. The group operates its stores on a franchise basis.

LSH has been tasked with finding suitable locations in the North of England, along with North Wales, the Midlands and Scotland.

Richard Lyons, the Manchester-based LSH director who is heading up the search, said: “Creams Café is a burgeoning brand with ambitious growth plans. These are intrinsically linked to having a network of properties which attract a high footfall, specifically among families and students.

“We have identified and are now actively looking at a range of opportunities at retail and leisure sites with the right demographic and footfall that Creams Café needs to succeed and which will facilitate the growth of the company.”
