Lovell building £4.4m Salford homes

City West Housing Trust has selected affordable housing specialist Lovell for the construction of 50 affordable homes in Little Hulton.

Work is under way on the £4.4m Kenyon Gateway scheme which will see homes developed for affordable rent and low-cost home ownership across six sites.

There will be 38 two- and three-bedroom houses and 12 one-bedroom apartments.

Altrincham-based Lovell was awarded the contract following a competitive tendering process through City West Housing Trust's development framework. Designed by John McCall Architects, the scheme is being supported with funding from the Homes & Communities Agency.

The energy-efficient new housing is due to meet Level 3 of the Code for Sustainable Homes. Properties will incorporate Lifetime Homes design features, ensuring they are flexible and can be adapted to residents' changing needs.
