Long queues as Apple launches iPhone 4

Trend-setting technology giant Apple attracted gadget fans to its stores in Manchester and Liverpool on Thursday for the UK launch of the iPhone 4.

Apple and O2 stores at the Arndale Centre (pictured below), Trafford Centre and Liverpool One all saw people queuing outside and Apple said it expected to sell out of its initial stock by the end of the day.

Apple Store ArndaleMobile network providers O2, T-Mobile, Orange and Vodafone will also sell the new lighter, smaller and improved version of the iPhone as well as retailers Phones 4u, Carphone Warehouse and Tesco.

There was no answer at the North West's Apple stores today when called.

Nothing wrong with the Blackberry. A friend once said Apple is "a lifestyle choice". That person works at Apple. Still to this day I don’t know what that means?!

I know it’s each to their own etc. But why oh why can you just not wait a couple of days! What a waste of time queuing for hours for a phone!! So so sad!
