Lomond completes third Manchester estate agent deal

Stuart PenderThornley Groves Estate Agents has acquired the Manchester city centre rental business of rival, Allison & Co, as expansion by parent company Lomond Capital continues.

Allison Boateng, owner of Allison & Co, formerly known as Isaac Anthony, will continue to operate its other branches in Urmston and Monton but will no longer operate lettings in Manchester city centre.

The deal marks Lomond's third acquisition in Manchester, following the takeover of Penny Ashton in 2012 and Thornley Groves last year.

Stuart Pender, chief executive of Lomond Capital, said: "Manchester has a very attractive property market offering with the largest private rental sector outside London."

Pender said Lomond was looking for further targets in Manchester as well as Leeds and Birmingham.
