LNT acquires two care home sites

Expanding developer LNT Construction has acquired two sites in Greater Manchester to build new care homes.

In Romiley, LNT plans a 78-bed home on the site of Barrack Hill Primary School acquired from Stockport council. The home will provide a mix of residential and dementia care services to address an under-supply of appropriate beds in the Stockport area.

In Moston, a 60-bed home is planned on the site of the former local-authority run Nuthurst Aged Persons Home, bought from Manchester City Council.

LNT has delivered 1,500 units in the past 18 months and has 950 more in the pipeline.

Andrew Long, LNT development director, commented: "At a time when others may be reducing their activity, we are committed to drive forward our build programme. We are also pushing the boundaries of design to develop homes that exceed both client and resident expectations. We have just completed a care home development in Hyde and are looking to add to our portfolio in the Manchester area."

NPS Stockport advised Stockport council. Manchester City Council was advised by Jacobs.
