Lloyd leaves DTZ to go client-side

Chris Lloyd, director of office agency at DTZ in Manchester, is to leave the company at the end of this month to join investor and developer MCR Property Group.

Lloyd has worked in the Manchester office agency team at DTZ since 2001 and focuses on the development, disposal and acquisition of office buildings across the North West.

MCR Property Group has offices in Manchester and London, and manages a commercial and residential real estate portfolio. According to the company website, it has recently moved from retaining assets in the long-term, to securing value-add opportunities across the country and the sale of properties.

Lloyd is the latest in a spate of agents to go client-side, including Adam Jackson from Lambert Smith Hampton’s office agency team who joined Orbit Developments, and Mike Walker, senior director of industrial at CBRE, who departed for Chancerygate at the end of last year.

Lloyd said: “This is a fantastic opportunity with MCR Property. I’ve been at DTZ for a long time and felt it was time for a change in direction.”

The DTZ office agency team is headed up by Rob Yates and includes Daniel Barnes, senior surveyor and Rob Prescott, surveyor.

Yates said: “We are grateful for Chris’s invaluable contribution in his 14 years with the firm and we wish him well in his new role, we also look forward to working with Chris at MCR on existing and future projects.”

Like it. Keeping their powder dry. Like the Man U transfer market.

Chris was fantastic when he secured a record rent of £1.59 psf for my first office development in Stalybridge. May he rest in peace.

I will miss you

One of the best customers I ever had. Chris would often talk to me in my Timperley Kebab shop about the shortage of Grade A office supply in South Manchester, whilst downing his daily donner kebab and can of Tizer.

He once squirted me in the face with one of those joke flowers in a business development meeting. Always the joker but a model professional.

Have you got any deals for me?
