Liverpool One names estate director

Iain Finlayson, previously the business performance director at the city centre retail complex, has replaced Steven Connolly who left in July.

His appointment as estate director is part of a reshuffle of Liverpool One’s senior management team, designed to help the shopping centre as it faces one of the most challenging times in its history, according to owner Grosvenor.

Donna Howitt, previously director of marketing and communications, has taken on the role of place strategy director, while interviews are currently underway to appoint a new facilities director.

Finlayson has worked at Liverpool One for the last five years and previously held positions at Swedish homeware giant Ikea, and Blackwell’s Bookshop.

Alison Clegg, Grosvenor asset management director, said: “[Finlayson] has developed a wealth of knowledge at Liverpool One and will play a key role in driving the shopping centre forward to ensure we build a successful future.

“He understands the challenges we face and we believe there is no better person to bring us through these difficult times.”

Finlayson said: “There is no doubt we now face great challenges not experienced before, but I am confident we will emerge stronger.

“Liverpool is a fantastic city to work in and I cannot think of a role I would rather be in right now.”
