Liverpool One extends trading for Olympics

Retailers in Liverpool One have voted to increase their Sunday trading hours in the weeks surrounding the Olympics.

For the eight-week period from Sunday 22 July, all Liverpool One stores will extend their core Sunday trading hours to 10am-6pm instead of 11am-5pm, giving the public an extra two hours of shopping time.

Liverpool One estate manager Grosvenor said the change in trading hours fell in line with the Government's plans to relax Sunday trading hours for the Olympics season in a bid to show the world that the UK is 'open for business' – a move announced in the Budget in March.

Matt Bell, business and customer service director, Liverpool One, said: "We hope Liverpool One's extended Sunday opening hours will encourage more shoppers to make a day of it when they visit and utilise our unique features like Chavasse Park and our extensive summer events programme."
