Proposals to convert 23 terraced houses in Liverpool from student accommodation back to private homes have been approved by planners at the city council.
The properties in Falkner Street and Catharine Street, were recently used as student accommodation and will undergo work by Hollinwood Homes, part of the Marcus Worthington Group.
Designed by John McCall Architects the 23 homes will keep their external appearance, and see the majority of work carried out internally.
The homes are part of £50m investment by the Marcus Worthington Group and the University of Liverpool in the surrounding area. This includes building new student accommodation for 354 students in the Philharmonic Court complex, situated off Catharine Street.
A further phase at Great Newton Street will see a former car park and disused university property to deliver 267 student accommodation bedrooms student across four connected blocks.
The Great Newton Street and Philharmonic Court schemes are being dealt with under separate planning applications and are due to be completed in 2014 and 2015 respectively.
Work on the Georgian terraces are due to be completed in 2016.
