Liverpool & Sefton Chambers of Commerce reports that Jenny Stewart stepped down as chief executive at the end of June.
Stewart joined the chamber in 2006 and became chief executive in 2012. A spokeperson for the chamber said: “During that time Jenny has become an influential figure in Liverpool and Sefton, promoting the voice of business locally and nationally. Jenny has also been a champion for start-ups and small business, most notably through the Spark Up programme.”
The reason for the departure was not given. Stewart has so far not responded to requests for comment from Place North West. The chamber said it will “make no further comment on this matter.”
The chief executive’s duties will be shared on an interim basis by directors Paul Cherpeau, policy and international trade lead, Jon Cranston, finance and export documentation, and Richard Daly, membership and events, all reporting to chairman Neil Ashbridge, the retired Bank of England agent who took over in March following the death of John Sutcliffe.
The chamber added: “The board and members wish Jenny well for the future.”
