LFC opts for Chapel Street

The search for a new office base for Liverpool Football Club has ended at Rumford Investments' 20 Chapel Street.

The club will occupy entire floor, of around 10,000 sq ft, at the building, which has let slowly since completion in 2006.

Liverpool FC has also taken an option to occupy a further two floors in the 150,000 sq ft building.

The new base will initially house the club's commercial operations, currently located within Anfield stadium, with the additional office space giving it the option of relocating other departments.

The club will join existing tenants Barclays and Barclays Wealth, Bank of Ireland, Broadway Malyan, Ernst & Young, Panmure Gordon, Finch, BoConcept and Poole PR who have already taken space in the building.

Mike Stares, director of Rumford Investments, said: "We are delighted that such a prestigious client and brand as Liverpool Football Club has decided to choose 20 Chapel Street following their extensive search for suitable premises in the city and look forward to welcoming them into the building."

Christian Purslow, managing director of Liverpool FC, said: "Liverpool FC is a rapidly expanding business and the new office space gives us room for growth and the opportunity to bring our commercial team together in one location. This will clearly help us to work more effectively and efficiently and to drive forward our development off the field."

The agents on the scheme are Mason Owen, Hitchcock, Wright & Partners and DTZ. Mason Owen advised Liverpool FC.
