Latest letting at 20 Chapel Street
Information management solutions supplier Idox has exchanged contracts with Canmoor to take 6,000 sq ft on a 10-year lease at 20 Chapel Street, Liverpool.
According to Canmoor, the latest deal takes the 155,000 sq ft building to 85% let. New occupiers in 2017 include law firm Goldsmith Williams which took 13,000 sq ft, and serviced office provider Orega which moved into 18,000 sq ft.
Idox acquired Liverpool-based digital agency Rippleffect last year. The company will occupy the front half of the seventh floor.
Sam Walker, director at Canmoor, which purchased the freehold of 20 Chapel Street in June last year, said: “It is great to see another exciting and thriving business choose 20 Chapel Street as its home and add to what is already a dynamic mix of tenants.
“Our investment into the refurbishment of the building and its facilities is paying dividends, with the spate of recent letting success demonstrating that there is an appetite for well-managed, high-quality office accommodation in the city. We’re delighted to welcome Idox to 20 Chapel Street as work continues on the reception enhancement works and new café.”
The office fit-out for Idox is now underway, with the firm expected to its 50 members of staff into the building in May.

Its ‘The Unity Building’ as in the building that won the Royal Institute of British Architects’ (RIBA) annual tall buildings awards in 2007. At the time RIBA described the towers as follows: “arrangement minimises any interruption to views of the Mersey and allows Unity, with its Dazzle Camouflage patterns.”

Like anything of interest in life – it’s subjective. I tend to side with the architectural professionals, in this case RIBA, on this one; in thinking that it’s a dynamic piece of architecture. But then again, I do know the building, and like RIBA – I have actually seen it in context, so maybe that’s why my view would differ from yours.
