LaSalle defies freeze with Cheshire sheds
In a rare moment of speculative development in the current market, LaSalle Investment Management is to deliver two mid-size distribution units after the off market acquisition of a 13-acre brownfield site in Winsford, Cheshire.
The site, on Winsford Industrial Estate, will comprise one newly built warehouse of 175,000 sq ft and another, refurbished, of 100,000 sq ft. LaSalle has formed a joint venture with an undisclosed development partner to carry out the project.
Oli Buckland of joint-letting agent M3 says: "The decision by LaSalle to invest in the area stems from the continued loyalty and desire of the local occupier market to remain in Winsford. The industrial estate has seen recent large scale deals to Linpac Material Handling and a currently unnamed local occupier who are both taking occupation of two new-build 150,000 sq ft distribution units."
Current tenants on Winsford Industrial Estate include Linpac, Boughey Distribution, H&M Hennes, Iveco, and International Paper among others.
The development is close to Junctions 18 and 19 of the M6.
The development will be marketed by joint agents M3 and Lamont & Co.
